Unprofessional by JD Hawkins

Thoughts at a glance: **** (I really liked it)
I have the best job in the world. Date beautiful women and write about it.
But I want to take it to the next level: instead of writing about my experiences make it into an online reality show.
But here is the catch. My boss wants me to share the show with a woman co-host. And he wants that woman to be my best friend and co-worker, Margo.
I’ll date beautiful women and she’ll date hot men. Sounds fair enough.
So now I have to watch her fake date hot men. I used to love going home with a different woman every night, but suddenly this isn’t as fun. Seeing Margo with anyone else is driving me crazy.
And the more time I spend with her working on the show, the less I want to keep our relationship in the friends’ zone. And the harder it is to stop myself from imagining her bent over the copier.
Things are about to get unprofessional.
Thoughts: I'm really excited to have been given yet another opportunity to be a part of JDH's blog tour! It's no secret that he's one of my favorite NA writers, and I'm glad I got a chance to read his latest book in advance.
In romance, one of my favorite tropes is the friends-to-lovers story, and that's what Unprofessional is about: Margo and Owen have been friends since college, and now they work at a Buzzfeed-like website together. Despite the attraction that has been simmering between them since the first day they met, they've managed to become best friends over the years.
In the grand scale of JDH, I wouldn't say it's my favorite out of his repertoire, but it's solidly up there - I enjoyed it more than his last one, Secrets of an Alpha Male, which I definitely did enjoy. It was interesting seeing how their dynamic played out, and I would've liked it better if Margo wasn't freaking out quite so much all the time about their changing relationship. Also, it never seemed like Owen was ever threatened by the men Margo dated, and I thought that was a little unfair, on her behalf :) But other than that, I enjoyed their chemistry and their story. Definitely a hot read ;)
